Longevity Diet Foods That Makes You Live Longer

Although genes play a vital role when it comes to the lifespan of a person, the food that a person eats also contributes to the longevity of the lifespan of a person. According to studies, what you eat will determine the kind of body that you will have. If you are one of those people who have unhealthy eating habits, you will most likely suffer from different types of diseases that may shorten your lifespan. To live longer, you should learn to eat properly and be on a longevity diet.

What To Eat

Experts believe that a diet that is low-fat and low calorie can help a make the body grow stronger. Your longevity diet should therefore be rich is whole grains, low-fat dairy, fruits, vegetables, beans and fish. To make sure that you are able to stick to your longevity diet, you should plan out all your meals well in advance. For instance, you may keep a weeklong longevity diet plan to get you on the right track. Make sure that your week long longevity diet contains different types of fruits and vegetables. Always remember that variety is very much desirable in a longevity diet.

Aside from fruits and vegetables, your longevity diet should include foods that will provide you enough supply of protein. Fish can be a good supply of protein but since some types of fishes that are caught in the wild already contain high concentration of mercury, it would be a good idea to eat fish only around twice a week. As substitute for fish, you may use organically grown chicken. Do not buy that chicken that have been commercially grown because they are usually feed with so much chemicals and growth enhancers. Studies showed that eating too chicken that are commercially grown chicken can be quite dangerous to your health.

If you are not sure if fish or chicken is safe, it would be a good idea for you to get your protein from beans and some low-fat dairy products like milk and cheese. If you can find some organically grown products in the supermarket, use these products. The good thing about using organically grown products is that you can be sure that these products do not contain many toxins and harmful chemicals.

Your longevity diet should include lots of water and fruit juices. If you have blender or juicer in your home, it would be a good idea to just buy fresh fruits and then make your own juice. Darkly colored fruits like berries and grapes will make very nutritious juices.
